The world pandemic that we never thought we’d live in has locked us in our homes, required us to socially distance, and left us bereaved but hopeful. Many have chosen to take this as an opportunity to channel their thoughts inwards and dive into a journey of self-reflection and development. 💭
Solo travel is perhaps one of life’s most exhilarating adventures one can yearn for, so it’s not a surprise that solo travelling has seen a huge surge in interest during the pandemic. You may wish to travel alone for plenty of reasons such as improving your self-confidence, developing your social skills, personal development and so much more. But my goal in this blog isn’t to highlight how good solo travelling is and how it will help you (you already know that).
Instead, my aim is to highlight some of the major drawbacks which don’t get mentioned as often. The bit that gets brushed under the rug if you know what I mean.
By the end of this blog you will have a better understanding of the realities that solo travelling encompasses, whether it’s the right choice for you, and perhaps an alternative option that may be of interest to you!
The reality of Solo travelling
Travelling solo means that you’ll probably have to settle for something less than luxurious. Let me explain… Many solo travellers are often constrained from the accommodation of their dreams and forced to settle for something more budget such as a hostel.
Hostels can be great for socializing but that comes at a price. The price is not financial, but instead other factors like sharing a room with strangers, poor hygiene and privacy.
Imagine this… You want a good night's sleep as you have a big day of exploring coming up, but you can’t relax as the bed looks dirty, James on the bed next to you keeps ripping out farts like no tomorrow🤦‍, and people are turning up drunk at 4 am. Who would want that on their precious holiday? Okay, I understand that some people don’t mind, and/or are on a tight budget which is totally fine. I’m just saying that the hostel life might not be for everyone 🤷‍♂️
The Luxury Pampered life
In many holiday destinations such as Bali, villas have become the pinnacle of luxury living. This is because they offer plentiful private living spaces, pools, dining areas, and more. Additionally, the full-time staff will make sure you can spend time focusing on what truly matters... Having an awesome time!
Nothing, not even the best hotels can compete with a high-end villa, especially in Bali.
But the problem is high-end villas often have 5+ rooms making them uneconomical to book as a solo traveller. Additionally, what makes a villa so fun is the social aspect, so booking one alone might result in feelings of loneliness and boredom.
The Luxè Week to the rescue
In collaboration with Gateway Villa Rentals (the industry leader in luxury properties across South East Asia), The Luxè Week ensures that guests are staying in only the best VIP villas, and at affordable prices.
On top of that, you also get to experience the best of the best that Bali has to offer. Whether that’s being chauffeured to see nature's ultimate views point such as Ubud, ecstatically dancing at the best venues as a VIP, or receiving a full-body traditional Indonesian massage in your villa after a fun day of surfing lessons and yoga 🏄‍♀️🧘‍♂️. The list goes on forever!
If you’re a person with a taste for the high life then The Luxè Week might just be the luxury solo travelling experience for you.
